Streamy Invites
by Avinash

Read the title? Want an invite? Let me know in your comments. :)
Please note that I’ve only 5 Streamy invites available right now but, I’m gonna share only 4 invites. I’ll share these invites with the people who sound friendly and intelligent in their comments. If I’ve more invites available, I’ll love to share with you.
One more thing: Streamy has a wonderful social atmosphere but it also is a completely closed system. You can’t see someone else’s profile who isn’t in your friend’s list. You can make more Streamy friends either by inviting your friends to join Streamy or sending a friend request to another Streamy user.
Due to Streamy’s closed nature, I request that please, please don’t request for an invite if our interests don’t match. For example, if you’re someone who has just started blogging and loves writing about money making stuffs, you’re not of my type.
For me, sending a Streamy invite is like selecting my new friends and I certainly don’t want to select someone as a friend who either doesn’t have the time to communicate or is too chatty! We geeks already spend too much time with computers and gadgets so don’t request for an invite if you’re gonna stay on my list like a robot.
By the way, I gotta admit that Streamy is looking more beautiful after the Streamy developers released new platform update (I’ll be posting about this pretty soon on my blog).

I just checked out the streamy website and youtube video demo from May: youtube.com/watch?v=xhAGmpocTLA
Seems like something I’d like to check out. I’m a little disappointed as a publisher that they stated as a feature “so you don’t have to go to the site” — streamy isn’t creating any content, they are piggybacking off writers/publishers like you and I by syphoning off our RSS content and trying to build community off it.
If the comments are happening in an area on streamy only and not on the original source, then the writer/publisher won’t be part of the conversation or anybody else who views the content at the source unless they are using Streamy. I see that as a major stumbling block for the service and it will not be popular with publishers.
It’s September now, so maybe Streamy has figured out how to deal with this issue.
As for whether or not you’d want to use up one of your four invites on me as a ‘friend’. You can check my blog and decide after seeing that. I spend a good amount of time looking at different sites/services on the web and sharing them with others. I’m not very chatty either for what it’s worth, unless it’s in our IRC channel. ;)
Hi Avi! I did not realize you listened to Country Music. Cool!
Your blog has been helpful and interesting,as usual. Great comments regarding Streamy. All I have been reading are good reviews, however, your review was the best. :) I asked for an invitation back in June or so on the site.
I know you are going to get requests from all your friends (this will be the biggest decision you will have to make this week) and I would like to be one of the first requesters. If you don’t have enough, I will understand and wait patiently for my invite from the website.
Take Care my friend!
@David: Thanks for stopping by! Please check your inbox. :) By the way, I had to remove the ‘+avinash’ from your email ID ’cause Streamy doesn’t support this email format for some reasons.
Tiny,
Glad that you stopped by, my friend. As far as the Country music is concerned, I’ve been a big fan of Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Dave Matthews Band, Brad Paisley, Dixie Chicks and a few other country singers/bands.
By the way, please check your inbox and let me know if you received the invitation or not. Unfortunately, I was pretty sleepy when I copied your email ID. Can’t remember if I sent the invitation to ‘mailto:yourid@gmail.com’ or just ‘yourid@gmail.com’.
Just let me know if you didn’t receive the invite and I’ll send another one.
This is a pretty awesome blog you have here friend.
I would love an invite if you have one.
I am the owner of Tech In Demand.
I will be sure to mention you and your blog if you do send me an invite.

Really would appreciate it if you can spare one. I was a past writer for Mashable, so, I won’t forget :)
Thanks.
Oh yeah, I love that “Life Is A Highway” song by Rascal Flatts. Ever since I watched Cars, I couldn’t get enough of it. It’s amazing considering I’m not a huge country listener :P
Oh yeah, and a suggestion: If it is possible, could you put the anti-spam question on top of the comment box instead of below it? Just a suggestion.
Thanks for visiting my site btw. I appreciate it!
James,
Please check your inbox. :)
@Everybody: Make sure that you’re using Firefox or Opera when you log into Streamy. The problem is that the developers updated the platform a few days ago and since then, Streamy has been misbehaving a bit. I hope they fix it soon but for now, Streamy is looking broken in other browsers (Safari/Win, SeaMonkey, etc.) Not sure about IE though.
It’s still in Private beta so be patient if you see any bug. :)
Nothing has arrived here yet, avinash (and it’s TD or TDavid — you didn’t forget the ‘t’ in my name, did you?)
And yes, I’ve checked that the invite is not in the spam bin :)
David,
Sorry for the trouble! It just taught me a lesson that I should not send emails/invitations when I’m too sleepy. Mind almost stops working.
I’ve sent another invite to you. Please check your inbox now. I hope you received the invite this time.
Hi Avi,
I received my invite and have already accepted it. You know what I will be doing all weekend! It is awesome. Thank-you,Thank-you,Thank-you!
I like Country music also. I have seen quite a few groups in concert, but not my favorite,Rascal Flatts.
Enjoy!
Hi there,
I would love an invite if you have one still.

Thank you so much!
Awesome, I got your invite and I have successfully signed up. I am going to check it out later on tonight and see what it’s all about and see how to interact with people and stuff.
Thanks again :)
Avinish – You keep calling me ‘David’ — it’s TD or TDavid, please. The ‘T’ is important in the email too :)
@TDavid: I hope that’s ok now. :) You still didn’t receive the invite? I’m pretty sure that I sent the invite to ‘tdavid@gxxxl.com’ .
I’ll be amazed if you still haven’t received the invite. I can try one more (& final) time for you, sir.
BTW, I did receive the invite this time. Thank you :)
LOL, I get the email, click on the validation link and their site says:
“Invalid key.
The provided invitation key is not in our system.”
I give up. Will wait for the public release. Hopefully it didn’t get wasted.
This is weird. Alright. one more invite is being sent, Mr. TDavid.
Please check your inbox one final time for an invitation from me to join Streamy. I hope the code isn’t expired this time.
The invite has been sent, Mr. TDavid.
Yeah, that one finally worked, thank you. The ‘Mr’ stuff is unnecessary too, BTW :) Friends aren’t that formal, are they?
I’ll leave you be now. Have a nice weekend!
